Case Study Noble M12
At Allied Automotive, we’re fortunate to work on a wide range of vehicles, from everyday family cars to rare performance machines. One particularly exciting recent project involved a striking Noble M12, finished in vibrant red, that required careful refinishing across several replacement and repaired panels.
The starting point
The Noble M12 arrived with a brand-new front clam, two repaired front wings, and a second-hand passenger door. While all the panels were structurally sound, they had come from different sources and were in varying states of preparation. As a result, the challenge was to unify these parts into a single, flawless finish that matched perfectly with the rest of the vehicle.

The challenge of fibreglass
Unlike most modern road cars, the Noble M12 uses fibreglass body panels. This material requires a different approach to conventional steel or aluminium repairs. Fibreglass is more sensitive to heat and movement, and any imperfections in the surface can easily show through the final paint finish if not properly addressed.
Our technicians therefore took extra time to prepare each panel correctly. The new front clam, repaired wings, and second-hand door were all carefully levelled, filled where necessary, and block sanded to ensure perfectly straight surfaces. Specialised primers suitable for composite materials were applied to create a stable base for the colour coat.
Achieving a perfect colour match
Red finishes can be particularly challenging to match, especially on a performance car where the depth and vibrancy of the colour are a key part of its visual impact. Using advanced colour-matching technology and spray-out test panels, our refinishing team worked to achieve an exact match to the existing paint on the Noble.
Each panel was then painted and clear-coated in our controlled spray environment, ensuring even coverage, correct film build, and a deep, consistent gloss. The panels were carefully blended into the adjacent areas of the vehicle so that there was no visible transition between old and new paintwork.
Precision reassembly and finishing
Once the paintwork was completed and fully cured, we carefully refitted all components, checking alignment, panel gaps, and shut lines to ensure everything met the exacting standards expected of a car like the Noble M12. Final polishing and detailing work brought out the full depth and clarity of the finish.

The finished result
The completed vehicle left our workshop with a perfectly uniform finish across all fibreglass panels, with no sign of the previous repairs or replacement parts. The rich red paintwork looked vibrant, smooth, and completely consistent from every angle.
Projects like this highlight the level of skill and attention to detail required when working with specialist vehicles and composite materials. At Allied Automotive, we combine technical expertise with a passion for high-end finishes, ensuring every car—no matter how unique—leaves us looking its absolute best.
